We were recently in San Diego working with Keegan Gerhard and Lisa Bailey on their new D Bar location. The space is coming together beautifully, but there is still a lot of work to happen. The public opening is set for May 24th, we can’t wait to sample the amazing menu. Here you see the new sign out front, the two bars coming together — a dessert bar and a bar bar, and Melissa of Xan reviewing a booth sample.
Ace on 17th Avenue is starting to take shape with framing and electrical. The first image shows the open kitchen line and the ping pong hall from the vantage of sitting at the bar. We LOVE old crusty buildings, so much character, and oh so many surprises! Photos by Taryn Kapronica, thanks Taryn!
We are thrilled to announce our restaurant project with Lisa Bailey and Keegan Gerhard of Denver’s D Bar Desserts. This sweet pair is opening their next successful location in San Diego’s Hillcrest neighborhood. We are traveling out to sunny California next week to kick off the construction. Here, you see some of the materials we will use in the design, along with some initial renderings. Stay tuned for more progress reports…Yum!
The news is finally out! Since the Fall, Xan has been working with the Steuben’s and Vesta Dipping Grill group to design and build their new restaurant in the Uptown neighborhood, on 17th Avenue. We’ve had our eye on this building since the 90’s, and are excited to be part of this overdue transformation. The restaurant is right next to Steuben’s and will feature Asian fare, a ping pong hall, and of course, sweet design throughout! Read more about it here in Westword.
Ambiance When greeted at the door, diners will immediately see how different the look and feel of Snooze is, compared to both traditional and non-traditional breakfast nooks.
The mastermind of Melissa at Xan Creative in Denver, Snooze’s whimsical foray into that “retro-futuristic” style is quite unique and has become a large part of their brand, conveying a comfortable but upbeat vibe.
“I keep looking up,” Butterfield said of the San Diego space he now runs, with its open steel, wood and brick architecture. Ironically, this industrial style matches their other Snooze spaces in Colorado, and it was pretty much by accident.Read entire article here, by Morgan M. Hurley
Xan wins another Denver Mayor’s Design Award, this time for The Great Divide Brewing Company. The Mayor’s Design Award honors creative spaces that take pride in their appearance, and contribute to making Denver a great place to live, work and play. The Great Divide space was honored in the “Oh Pioneers!” category — grassroots greatness, gritty, eclectic, and cool, a project that goes before, preparing the way for others. Our past Mayor’s Design Awards include: Snooze in 2007, and Marco’s Coal-Fired Pizzeria in 2009.
Check it out, we set up a time-lapse camera during the construction of our latest Snooze Restaurant in Boulder Colorado. Here you see our sweet Melissa Friday with Amanda Young, Snooze Boulder’s General Manager.
Xan has been working with Snooze A.M. Eatery since the first location in Denver. We have been in crunch time these past couple weeks and are finally ready to open the 5th location in Boulder. Here you see the Boulder location facade on Pearl Street at 16th; Melissa Friday coordinating the final touches to the space; and a detail shot of our update to the round booth design. Snooze Boulder opens to the public September 29th, 2011, come check it out!
We are in the final week of design buildout at the Tap Room. We will be ready to serve delicious brews in the newly expanded space just in time for the GABF Great American Beer Festival! Here you see the new space from the brewery production area, before and after paint and lights.
